The minimum admission requirement for postsecondary programs is one of the following:
Ontario Secondary School (OSSD) or equivalent;
Grade 12 or mature equivalent;
Be at least 18 years of age (or age sspecified in program approval) and pass an approved qualifying test,the Canadian Achievement Survey Test(CAST)
General Educational Development (GED)
Basic Training for Skills Development (BTSD)
Additional requirements for the Healthcare Program(s) are: Criminal Record check,TBTest,Hepatitis B Vaccine,CPR & First Aid Certificates
Mature Student Status
Applicants aged 19 or older as of the first day of school, and who do not possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), may be considered for admission as mature students. Students lacking the necessary academic requirements may have to complete academic upgrading as outlined by the college. Mature applicants are considered on an individual basis and should contact the College Office as early as possible to determine their eligibility for admission.
Program Eligibility
Some programs require that applicants meet additional admission criteria. These may include specific academic prerequisites; the completion of an essay, test or questionnaire; or medical form.
The admission eligibility requirements for each program are listed in detail in the program description section of this calendar. It is the responsibility of each applicant to complete these requirements as part of the admission process.
Equivalent Admission Requirements
Other Provinces and Territories
Applicants whose secondary school studies have been completed outside the province of Ontario must submit evidence of equivalent standing. Recognized equivalents to an Ontario Secondary School Diploma may be accepted if the applicant meets the requirements for admission to the college levels, subjects and overall averages required. Generally the requirement is successful completion of a Grade 12 diploma, except for the Province of Quebec where the equivalent is Secondary V. "
